The BoatUS IT Web Development Team is seeking a highly motivated Senior .NET Developer to start an IT Career with GEICO and BoatUS. Working with other software engineers, analysts, and supervisors, you will work in a business environment with a wide variety of teams, systems, platforms, and technologies. In this role, you will be building applications that range from supporting legacy systems to working with state-of-the-art modern applications. As a more senior member of the team, you will be expected to help mentor junior developers and help in designing complex solutions that keep our organization competitive. In addition, you will participate in the entire software development lifecycle by writing code and unit tests, participating in application and systems testing, finding solutions to issues during development and after deployment. You should be a self-starter and a driven individual with a proven track record and a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving. Ideally, you have a burning desire to learn new technologies in addition to learning existing infrastructure and systems.

Requirements Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of progressive software development experience
  • Advanced experience with C#, .Net MVC 5 and WCF Services
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX and Bootstrap
  • Strong background in SQL on the MS SQL Server and Oracle database platforms
  • Experience with designing and building APIs
  • Strong foundation in software engineering principles
  • Knowledge of design patterns and algorithms
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail is required
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving ability, critical thinking skills, creative/innovative thinking
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills and techniques
  • Ability to thrive while working on ambiguous or challenging projects
  • A Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering disciplines, Mathematics and Physics

Desirable Qualifications:
  • A strong background in AngularJS
  • Experience with Agile SDLC
  • Experience with Azure and DevOps
  • Experience or knowledge in Insurance Sales, Underwriting or Claims
  • Experience in dealing with external customers and/or business stake holders
  • Experience documenting business and system requirements, processes, workflows and test plans
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Understanding of software development, web technologies, and testing approaches
