We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Cloud Architect for a Full-Time position. Job Summary: We are looking for a Cloud Engineer / Architect to support a federal government customer. The Cloud Engineer / Architect is responsible for leading design, maintenance, and migration efforts of our clients' datacenters to the Azure Cloud. The successful candidate will drive Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Technology (POT) evaluation on interoperable technology platforms. Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with customers, cloud partners, and other internal groups to evaluate supporting new technologies, industry specific use cases and architectures based on client needs.
  • Define, design, build, and deliver the engagement's, platform's and/or product's required architecture (i.e., development, operations, execution, data, application, etc.) in coordination with existing technical support teams.
  • Collaborate with applications owners/developers, stakeholders, and strategic partners during the process of building Cloud offerings and solutions.
  • Take ownership of problem resolution or ensure a clear hand-off to the right owner
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with pre-prod and production services.
  • Contribute to and/or lead teams and processes to achieve strategic goal.
  • High-level and low-level technical design of solutions
  • Implementation of complex or non-standard solutions, in collaboration with other teams and the PMO.
  • Improvement of existing tools and processes.
  • Support to the Operations and Product teams.

Experience requirements:
  • Extensive experience with designing, implementing and managing systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment
  • Overall 15+ years of experience working in IT and at least 5-7 years of experience building cloud architecture with AWS and Azure
  • Experience in creating and managing technology road map for overall cloud strategy.
  • Experience designing and deploying IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions
  • Experience deploying relational and NoSQL databases in cloud
  • Working knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking including load balancers.
  • Experience with Azure Resource Templates
  • General understanding of Microservices, such as Docker and VDI
  • Experience writing cloud architecture technical documentation
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Azure and AWS Architect profession certification is preferred.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Able to pass a Federal Government Public Trust background investigation.
  • Bachelor's in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar field required.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with poly-cloud environments, cloud services, and platform software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and building-trusting relationships with stake holders.
  • Ability to apply the principles of analytical and critical thinking skills and other professional practices to diagnose or define problems, collect data and solve abstract problems with widespread unit or organizational impact.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative and agile environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
