Logistics Coordinator with Data Center experience; Sterling VAJob DescriptionOur data center engineering group needs a reliable, dependable Logistics Specialist to join our team of professionals. The successful applicant will take over logistical and asset management duties for our data center and its store room and become instrumental in ensuring that we have adequate stock. This person will be responsible for facilitating all shipments both in to and out of the facility and ensuring that the shipments are tracked, stored and documented properly. He or she will report directly to the data center manager and will coordinate with data center engineers and other departments to ensure an efficient daily workflow.Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical cataloging, warehousing, inventorying, material control coordination and data entry assisting different supply activities.
  • Disperse parts and shipments to data center engineers as they are requested.
  • Follow the activities and projects of the data center team so that needs can be anticipated.
  • Establish and maintain maximum and minimum consumables inventory levels.
  • Supervise orders and arrange stocking of raw materials and equipment to ensure they meet needs.
  • Manage the return of RMA parts to the vendors in a timely fashion.
  • Ship equipment to other data centers and remote sites when requested.
  • Work with other logistics teams and IT asset managers in the company.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as logistics coordinator.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
  • Experience and knowledge of enterprise level IT parts and equipment.
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Extreme attention to detail and organization.
  • Aptitude and ability to recommend and create new processes and improve existing processes.
  • Experience in customer service will be appreciated.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have the ability to obtain appropriate knowledge on the company s products and know how these products should be handled and stored.
  • HS diploma or GED required. Associates degree or higher is a plus.
