Our client is a global trade management firm whose software enables companies and governments to conduct compliant, global trade. Whether by land, sea or air, when internationally shipped goods cross borders, it must be taxed, secured, re-routed, received, returned and validated in many ways as dictated by the recipient's home country.
Our client is in the midst of a Digital re-imagination initiative and is simultaneously building a product, an extension of an existing suite of software services, to support their smaller and mid-sized clientele with 'a la carte' self services that enables some level of self-service for their brokerage customers. This "Digital Clearance" functionality with all clientele to enroll, sign up, be walked throughthe process, online. They'll be able to upload power of attorney docs to give our client the necessary legal rights to receive goods on their behalf. The system would permit the uploading of card/invoice information through a broker entry into the system. There would be visibility to U.S. Customsresponses. While some of the functionality already exists, it's somewhat fractured. There are elements of integrating older, disparate systems to automate some of these transactions along with plenty of new development. Workshops have begun and the product organization has submitted a working prototype from a business perspective that showcases the UI, etc.This software developer will join a newly hired team lead and UI/UX expert to work through the front end and back end development process, which may include interfacing with Salesforce.
