Linux Administrator TS/SCI Clearance required

This position is part of the IT Technology Operations division within the organization and performs the following responsibilities/functions:

  • Installing and upgrading Linux/Unix system software on company servers and computers.
  • Creating LINUX/UNIX file systems.
  • Setting up and maintaining LINUX/UNIX user accounts and access management systems to include root permissions and access
  • Implementing network and computer system policies.
  • Detecting and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Responding to user requests and software errors.
  • Supporting application owners with troubleshooting Linux/Unix based applications
  • Monitoring the performance of the system and server.
  • Ensuring backup and recovery policies are in place with support of the enterprise storage team
  • Setting up and monitoring security policies (ie STIG)
  • Applying patches and upgrades when necessary.
  • Familiarity working in a virtualized environment leveraging VMware products

LINUX/UNIX System Administrator Requirements:

  • 10+ years of specialized experience with progressively complex computer systems
  • Comfortable leading a team, as part of a team, and/or as an individual as required
  • Previous experience as a LINUX/UNIX system administrator.
  • Knowledge of LINUX/UNIX and LINUX/UNIX operating systems, storage environments, file systems, and network protocols.
  • Detailed knowledge of LINUX/UNIX principles, file editing, LINUX/UNIX commands, and file manipulation.
  • Familiarity with Windows, LINUX/UNIX, LINUX/UNIX, and LINUX/UNIX shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP, IP, VLANs, and UDP.
  • Understanding of backup procedures and storage management.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware systems including circuit boards, memory modules, and processors.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Required: Current DoD 8570 - IAT Level II
  • Required: Top Secret/SCI-level adjudication
