Responsibilities

Job Description:

This Individual will support the USCG Health Safety Work Life (HSWL) program with the development and modernization of their Unit Profile Adaptive maintenance application and other applications as required. The database developer, working closely with the application programmer is responsible to provide web software and database design enhancements to the existing Unit Profile application, including web/database design and development, status reports and technical documentation of the programming code in support of the SIS Unit Profile application.

Duties include:
  • Must be proficient with MS SQL 2012; query optimization, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, hashing, SSRS
  • Designs, develops, implements, and maintains complex databases, stored procedures and functions, SSRS Reports, and data warehouse interface programs.
  • Maintains data dictionaries and integrates changes through phased deployment
  • Provides database development using T-SQL scripting, database load utilities, functions, and stored procedures.
  • Works on all aspects of database management and translates requirements into technical design.
  • Provides change control and configuration management within the software development lifecycle.
  • Applies knowledge and experience with application development methodologies; database technologies; backend programming languages (e.g.; T-SQL)
  • Stays current on vendors' best security practices in relation to organizational requirements and maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Prepares, updates, and reviews documentation as required.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:
  • 6 years application development and design, programming and/or system integration experience
  • CompTIA Security + CE, CompTIA CySA+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or higher certification required
  • 4 years database programming and administration experience preferred
  • SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) experience required
  • .NET experience preferred

Educational Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
