Job Description

The Assistant Operations Manager's focus is on all personnel aspects of warehouse operations in relation to our Consumer Products Division (CPD). This includes management of staff and coordination of staff allocation to meet standard operational metrics for successful order fulfillment. The Assistant Ops Manager is responsible for learning all aspects of all operational processes within the warehouse to enable a comprehensive understanding of supervisory and hourly staff responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains morale of staff through effective day- to- day operations; coordinating priorities and delegating work assignments to team members to ensure the efficiency and quality of processing orders for CPD customers.
  • Responsible for enforcing SOP’s, policies, and compliance of all federal and state safety and operating guidelines such as OSHA, etc.
  • Assists management in the identification and measurement of operational improvement opportunities.
  • Oversight of resource planning to meet Operational requirements within the CPD business.
  • Responsible for planning labor and other budgetary needs on a monthly basis.
  • Assists with the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of hourly warehouse positions in coordination with Supervisors and Human Resources.
  • Coordinates temporary personnel with department supervisors and Human Resources within budgeted expectations.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ year’s operational experience including at least 1-2 years managerial experience in a fast paced distribution or manufacturing facility
  • Experience with planning/scheduling work to meet tight deadlines
  • Proven experience managing, leading and development of staff
  • Requires knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and general distribution operating procedures.
  • Requires general knowledge of machinery and usage such as forklift, order pickers, shipping manifest, etc.
  • Experience in warehouse or distribution industries related to the hospitality/retail/online consumer business desired.
