Job Description: This is primarily a remote position, with occasional meetings and workdays in the Tysons Corner, VA office. As a part of the Business Development (BD) Team, this role will support the pursuit of new opportunities across federal government agencies. The candidate must thrive in an environment where they support the execution of the full BD life-cycle process, across multiple, simultaneous pursuits and proposals. In addition to supporting a qualified pipeline of opportunities, the BD Associate will help shape customer requirements and translate customer needs into actionable approaches.

Experience: Experience with opportunity vehicles (e.g., MAC, GWAC, BPA, IDIQ), proposal development framework(s) initiative, SharePoint repository workflows, MS Word expertise, Pipeline updates, customer relationship management and opportunity tracking, as well as experience with a variety of contract types is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities: Primary activities include assisting with market assessment, opportunity identification, qualification, and maturation, to support determining Bid/No-Bid decisions. Supports the BD Team that leads the market and competitive assessment, qualification, capture, and proposal processes to include all aspects in developing the company's win strategy. This position will include supporting customer contact and positioning, teaming interactions, and coordination with other internal entities.

The person in this role requires a high degree of initiative to support the BD Team with a dynamic, multi-year pipeline of opportunities, including:
  • Support the opportunity pipeline growth
  • Support the identification, qualification, and pursuit of strategic business opportunities
  • With the BD team, provide input to identify best-in-class solutions to the customer and maximize win probability
  • Help to gather market intelligence and competitor data that helps position the division for ensuring success
  • Participate in bid decisions, gate reviews and the development of cost strategies
  • Participate in customer visits and help to articulate current and emerging customer needs/requirements
  • Actively support and participate in capture activities
  • Support the development and submission of white papers and RFI responses to proactively shape strategic opportunities
  • Support after-action reviews for all business opportunities, capture participants to document lessons learned
  • Support pipeline reviews with senior leadership

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field
  • 0-2 years of Sales/BD experience
  • Experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint)
  • Drive to succeed in a growing organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
