Basic Purpose Digital payment technology is constantly undergoing transformation and Navy Federal is building innovative solutions to enable the money movement needs of our members. We are in search of a talented technical engineering leader to lead the design and development of digital payment platforms and solutions. If you are someone who enjoys the challenge of working on complex, highly disparate technologies to deliver a seamless payment experience, then this may be the opportunity for you. As a Sr. Developer, you will lead the research, design, development, and delivery of new digital payment solutions and enhancements to existing solutions aligned to enterprise and business initiatives via agile product delivery. The candidate will focus on value-based delivery with minimal day-to-day direction and must be able to quickly adapt to change. The ideal candidate will be familiar with digital payments trends, have experience developing and implementing digital payments solutions, and have experience deploying solutions on cloud computing platforms.

Responsibilities: • Lead the design, development, integration, and deployment of Digital Payments applications, systems, and platforms collaborating closely with Business Systems Analysts, Enterprise and Solution Architecture, and platform and product teams.• Responsible for research, system analysis, design, development, integration, enhancement, and deployment of technology solutions.• Prepare implementation plans and manage the change management process for production and non-production deployments.• Create and maintain technical product documentation including architecture diagrams in accordance with the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).• Lead and mentor team members on technical direction, design, and development approach.• Identify technical impediments in design, development, operations and determine corrective action.• Identify opportunities to effectively mitigate risk and improve functionality, performance, and security.• Partner with Technical Product Managers, Business Systems Analysts, Scrum Masters, and Developers to maintain the product backlog.• Work in dedicated, cross-functional Agile / Scrum product development teams.• Collaborate with Product Owners to continually evaluate product capabilities and provide guidance to product roadmap and strategy. • Work with the team to develop and maintain policies, procedures, standards, documentation, and architectural governance for the development of technology solutions.• Oversee peer design and code reviews to provide guidance and direction on design and development practices.• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, work across teams to develop and implement solutions and provide technical support and consultation.• Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring problems.• Collaborate with other platform and product development teams to ensure a consistent, uniform approach to software development.• Ensure accuracy of information communicated to leadership to support decision making.• Utilize agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.• Monitor the Financial Services and Payments landscape to stay abreast of trends, innovations, standards, regulatory requirements, etc.• Operate with a continuous improvement mindset.• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related degree, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.• Extensive experience building complex, large-scale distributed systems.• Extensive experience with Object-Oriented Programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, C, Python).• Extensive experience with Java Enterprise Edition (JEE).• Extensive experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).• Extensive experience with development of web services, microservices, APIs.• Extensive experience with REST and SOAP web services utilizing lightweight data interchange formats (e.g., JSON, WSDL).• Experience with JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g., Angular, React.js, Vue.js, Node.js).• Knowledge of evolving web standards including HTML5 and CSS3.• Experience with Oracle and MS SQL.• Experience with Azure, AWS, Google, or Oracle cloud platforms.• Advanced knowledge of Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).• Expert knowledge and experience of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).• Strong research, analytical, planning, and technical problem-solving skills.• Advanced experience in systems, workflow, and procedural analysis.• Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize tasks.• Advanced interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.• Ability to lead teams, exercise initiative, and use good judgement.

Desired Skills: • Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related degree.• Technical leadership experience leading agile software development teams.• Integration experience with Salesforce, Dynamics 365, Adobe Experience Manager.• Experience with FIS Systematics, FIS Open Payments Framework (OPF), Oracle Banking Platform, Oracle Payments Hub, The Clearing House RTP• Experience with IBM DataPower, IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), and IBM WebSphere.• Cursory knowledge of mainframe systems and related technologies.• Experience with implementing APIs on the MuleSoft Anypoint API platform.• Experience using Eclipse, IntelliJ, and/or Visual Studio Code IDEs.• Experience with Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Azure Repos.• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) to support build, deployment, and test automation.• Experience writing and evaluating user stories and acceptance criteria written in Gherkin.• Advanced knowledge of banking/financial industry standards, Open Banking standards, regulations, and practices.• Advanced knowledge and experience working with or implementing payment processing systems.• Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations, organizational objectives.• Java SE/EE Oracle Certified Professional certifications.• Microsoft Azure development/architecture certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate).• SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe for Architects, Agile Product Management, or Agile Software Engineering certifications.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM (Occasional deployment support)

Salary: $95,600 - $163,500

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range, based on your experience, location and market position.

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report onsite 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting onsite will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and onboarding process.
