Technical Writer Location: Vienna, VA/ Any client location/ Remote until COVIDDuration: 5 months

Responsibilities:Work with software development teams to document user functionality and business-critical APIs that will affect thousands of a Financial organization associates.Work across teams and technical and product verticals to gather work requirements, resolve dependencies, and deliver content alongside the feature it covers.

Expectations:Comfortable writing both product and API documentation and be prepared to provide writing samples of bothGenuine ability to use language as a tool, and a deeply technical experience as a tech writerStrong grammarian who understands how sentence structure and word choice can clarify or obscure meaningAbility to juggle multiple projects and driving their successful and timely completionAbility to welcome technical challenges and fanatically focused on a great user experience

Basic Qualifications:Bachelors degree or military experience.At least 3 years of technical writing experience.Comfortable using GitHub and experience with ConfluenceDemonstrable experience creating API reference documentation, best-practice workflows, and examples

Preferred Qualifications:1+ year experience working with topic-based authoring, specifically MadCap FlareComfortable collaborating with developers to translate their content into easily understood documentationExperience writing in an Agile software development processSolid understanding of data management technologies and processes3-5 years of writing REST API documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. Writing samples will be requested.High level of comfort with REST and RESTful conventions, for example you should know the difference between query parameters and headers.Experience crafting and maintaining example code in languages like cURL, Python, Go, or NodeJSHave experience working with OpenAPI/SwaggerUI.5+ years of technical writing experience3+ years experience in software development3+ years experience working in an Agile environment
