This position provides global support for United States Navy (USN) afloat and ashore operations worldwide. This includes lifecycle support for the sustainment and modernization of Automated Digital Network System (ADNS), Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES), and legacy Programs of Record (POR) systems for Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC-PAC) Tactical Networks Program (PMW 160). SAIC delivers tier 1, 2, and 3 distance and on-site technical support, configuration management, training, logistics, integration, installation, and sustainment engineering of these systems. The workforce is based in San Diego and Norfolk and performs work on surface ships and ashore sites at all U.S. Navy bases worldwide. The candidate will interface with SAIC employees, Active Duty personnel, and US Government employees to provide top notch repair support with a focus on United States Navy related networks. The position may require travel, equal to approximately 10%, both US and international along with some off hours support. Responsibilities:- Mentor team members, fostering training and development opportunities to enhance technical and professional growth, staffing efforts, and supporting customer requests.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the team. i.e. trouble tickets, on deck issues, etc
- Provide direction, instructions and guidance to your team.
- Motivate their team to accomplish important objectives and multiple demands.
- Create a sense of ownership in all tasks.
- Manage all event staffing for Technical Sustainment Support (TSS).
- Defer ALL funding, travel, and time charging to applicable project manager.
- Develop and implement a timeline to achieve targets.
- Influence and build relationships.
- Facilitate problem solving and collaboration.
- Assign tasks to team members.
- Follow up with team members and routinely have check-in conversations.
- Communicate clear instructions to team members.
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; Years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- 4 or more years experience in supervisory enlisted role in a military environment
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Personnel Management experience
- Human resource management
- Conflict resolution and team-building
- Working knowledge of/Experience with basic networking concepts and protocols
- Basic experience in supporting Microsoft Office and Windows OS in an enterprise environment
- Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Database Software
- Understanding of Databases and knowledge Management tools
- Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months of hire date
- Must have an active DOD Secret clearance
- Familiarity with one or more of the following systems is a plus: CANES, ADNS, CENTRIXS, ISNS/ORT, ONE-NET, SCI-Networks, SUB-LAN, VIXS, WRBS, CND and SCIP-IWF
