Basic Purpose Define and develop Mainframe or distributed automation strategies and policies for eliminating manual intervention during the management of systems and workloads. Architect automated solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the systems operations environment. Provide consulting support, standards and automation best practices to areas responsible for developing and deploying solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement highly available Mainframe platform with emphasis on System Management in accordance with NFCU standards• Partner with the various technology teams to identify and reengineer processes as they onboard to the Mainframe platform• Lead the efforts to automate and orchestrate repeatable administration tasks. Make necessary improvements to increase reliability and reusability• Drive industry standard on continuous process improvements• Develop thorough technical documentation including diagrams

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to investigate operational or business problems and propose solution• Ability to effectively communicate system information to the technical team and upper management• Good time management and priority skills• Candidate will be required to be part of on-call rotation• The candidate should have industry experience as specified below that would allow them to suitably manage the delivery lifecycle by providing technical designs, establishing best practices and overseeing development efforts:Mainframe:• Strong ability to code using REXX programming language and other scripting languages• Mainframe experience• Experience with CA OPS/MVS• Experience with Parallel Sysplex systems• Experience with SSM • Experience creating and working with RDF Tables• Experience with SYSVIEWE and JCL• Experience managing, monitoring and/or supporting computing systems (mainframe and/or distributed), business applications and system's infrastructure• Experience identifying and implementing automation opportunities and solutions on IBM z/series, Unix and Windows operating systems• Experience that demonstrates the ability to identify, analyze and document business requirements, and recommend automated solutions• Proven ability to identify more effective and efficient ways to support Business Services without human oversight and manual intervention• Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, and mentor others and realize product/process efficiencies where applicable• Demonstrated research, analytical, and problem solving skills

Desired • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience• Possess current awareness of professional standards, innovations and industry best practices• ITIL Certification

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm with on call rotation to support 24/7 operations

Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, this position will be temporarily working from home with plans to return to campus at the desired location listed once Navy Federal is back to normal operations. The specific logistics for returning to campus will be determined at a future date by individual leadership
