EDUCATION: The Child-placing Supervisor shall have a doctorate or master's degree in social work from a college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education plus three years of experience in providing casework services to children and families OR A doctorate or master's degree in a field related to social work such as, but not limited to, sociology, psychology, special education, or counseling with at least four years of experience in providing casework services to children and families in a child-placing agency; OR a Baccalaureate degree in any field plus five years of experience in providing case management services to children and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for an energetic, experienced, and passionate Program Manager who will:

Serve as a positive role model for residents to observe and learn socially effective values, attitudes and behaviors. Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the resident transitional living plan. Interact with all youth in accordance with the treatment plan and the therapeutic process.

Be responsible for direct supervision of child-placing staff (Life Skills Coaches), but may not supervise more than eight child-placing staff members.

Provide direct supervision to Life Skill Coaches (case workers) and Evening Support Counselors as well as providing case management services to young adults as needed, living in a transitional living apartment setting.

Promote the involvement of staff, caregivers, other natural, and community support persons in planning services.

Serve as a facilitator for young adults preparing for successful transition into the community- focusing on money management, employment, education, daily living, and career development. Preparing and carrying out social plans with children and families Interviewing children and families.

Collect and record data relevant to the young adult's progress on their TLP goals and submit monthly and quarterly reports to referring workers on the placing agency. Record accurate and complete information in the resident chart pertaining to: resident behavior, critical incidents, AWOLs, restrictions, unusual sleep patterns, etc. Chart and record services rendered in accordance with agency standards.

Conduct weekly Life Skills Groups, review youth's progress with Life Skills Development, and discuss barriers. Participate in Treatment Team meetings.

Work flexible hours including evenings.

Conducting youth assessments; Preparatory counseling with youth and families for placement or discharge, or both.

Have and maintain a current diver's license to transport youth as necessary.

Familiarize self with youth's strengths and weaknesses in leisure skills, socialization, motor development and physical condition and plan activities to complement youth's needs.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current Virginia driver's license, safe automobile, and current and sufficient auto insurance. Your driver's license report must comply with the following: A record of -5 or better driving points, no more than 3 accidents or moving violations within the last 3 year period, no driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, negligent homicide, hit and run, driving on a suspended license, or permitting an unlicensed person to drive violations within the last 3 year period.
