Are you a logistics professional looking to take ownership of a new role and a fleet of drivers?

There is a rare opportunity for a Training and Development Project Manager for one of the largest rendering companies in the United States. Valley Proteins is looking for a seasoned logistics professional for this highly-visible role. You will be responsible for implementing the driving training curriculum, identify process improvements and support regional hiring and training managers. Travel is frequent in this role, but when you are in the office it will be at their Winchester, VA location.

If you have the following, they want to hear from you:

3 to 5 years of training (transportation and safety) experience preferred

Must possess CDL A with tanker endorsement, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment

Basic PC skills and knowledge of various computer applications is required (MS Office, MS, SAP, ELD, TSM)

Must demonstrate knowledge of Federal/State FMCSA regulations and other relevant governmental and industrial standards and policies

Must have an excellent work and safety record

Travel is required, and may be as high as 75% of business days

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure that all required driver training is accomplished within the established time parameters and to company standards

Facilitate training activities and determine additional training needs for assigned driver staff

Assist the divisions with driver recruiting and retention efforts

Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure drivers operate in compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Company regulations / policies and procedures

Responsible for train-the-trainer activities and for maintaining an adequate number of designated driver trainers for the district
