We are looking for a hands-on technical program manager with experience seeing complex projects from concept through design, to production, and flight. This person would have a strong background in designing spacecraft whether it be from structural, avionics, systems, or propulsion system design. This person would be responsible for leading cross-functional engineering teams for a given mission, working with internal and external stakeholders to produce a quality product that meets all requirements, while staying in budget and on schedule. This position will make an immediate impact in a small, fast paced engineering environment.

We are actively developing and producing orbital transfer vehicles to support the expanding needs of the small satellite community. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, positive, and dedicated individual that enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. Spaceflight seeks team members that act with high integrity, are willing to serve wherever they are needed, and are dedicated to continual learning and improvement. Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of new hardware and software to meet customer and/or mission objectives.
  • Support the development of specifications, requirements, and management of interfaces between customers (internal and external) and design teams.
  • Develop program plans, budgets, and schedules, both from internally derived goals and constraints that can be derived from customer contracts or statements-of-work.
  • Monitor technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule, deliverables and risks and review recommendations for change with program management.
  • Work with vendors to ensure hardware meets requirements and is delivered on time.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in engineering with program or project management experience
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in spacecraft development; including one or more of the following: in-space propulsion system, fluid/mechanical systems, structures and tanks, avionics, and systems engineering.
  • Must have experience working with outside customers, and excellent communication skills
  • Possess strong team inter-team cooperation and organization skills
  • 5+ years in spacecraft engineering discipline with project management experience
  • Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle
  • Excellent attention to detail, task planning, oral and written communication skills
  • Must be highly motivated and self-directed
  • Candidate must work well in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with satellite design, preferably with avionics
  • Experience with project management or leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience with CREO, Windchill, Confluence, Jira, Jama
  • Experience with building and maintaining integrated schedules, risk management, configuration management, requirements management processes
