Overview
CDI Custom Design is seeking a dependable and hardworking Wood Shop Helper with at least 2 years of experience in a cabinet or woodworking shop. This position is perfect for someone who already has foundational skills and is ready to take the next step toward becoming a full-fledged cabinet maker or shop carpenter.
You’ll work directly with experienced craftsmen, assisting in production while continuing to develop your skills in all aspects of custom cabinetry and millwork fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with fabrication, sanding, assembly, and finishing of custom cabinetry and millwork.
Help prepare materials, load/unload deliveries, and organize job components.
Operate hand tools and basic woodworking equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Read and follow basic shop drawings or instructions.
Support senior carpenters and the shop manager with daily production needs.
Take initiative to learn more advanced skills and techniques over time.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of woodworking, cabinetry, or shop experience required.
Familiarity with hand tools, woodworking machines, and general shop practices.
Ability to measure accurately and follow instructions.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
Team player with good communication skills.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
