SummaryUnder close supervision performs a variety of fairly routine activities. Prepares production schedules, instructions, and documents for manufacture of products. Monitors production progress and intervenes accordingly by performing the following duties.Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned:Prepare schedules to establish sequence and lead-time of each manufacturing operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders.Review production specifications and plant capability data, and perform calculations to determine manufacturing processes and tools.Interpret specifications, blue prints and job requirements to establish process plans to support new program requirements.Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.Participates in meetings with manufacturing, engineering, program management, customers and vendors as a team member as required.Plan and schedule work center and sequence according to previously established program requirements.Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or sub-contract.Create and release system documents and files for cost collecting data and controlling production.Coordinate and adjust jobs as needed to meet operational changes.Prepare status reports for management while tracking the progress of jobs from preliminary status through completion.Advise schedule deficiencies to manufacturing organization and top management.Review and evaluate jobs for closure, assuring all costs are complete prior to closing. Confers with accounting or operational departments as required.Confer with manufacturing department supervisors to assess status of assigned projects.Review and report operational delays in schedules.Prepare manufacturing instructions to manufacture goods to meet customer needs and system demands.Prepare picking instructions to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.Prepare requisitions to obtain materials.
