Job Description:As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will help design and develop rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet Company's launch vehicle program requirements for various spaceflight systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop Component Finite Element Models based on interaction with the design and engine system analysis team.
  • Run FEM Simulations of rocket engine hardware including valves, turbomachinery, manifolds, and thrust chambers
  • Use FEM to support test and failure investigations
  • Provide guidance to design engineers to improve the performance of designs
  • Communicate analysis results to the team

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 5+ years of experience in structural analysis utilizing FEA
  • Excellent understanding of structural analysis/mechanics
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Experience with ANSYS Workbench Required.
  • Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time
  • Ability to communicate analysis results effectively
  • Must = or permanent resident (current holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:
  • Experience with structural modeling of pressurized components, rocket engine hardware, or similar high-performance hardware
  • Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc)

Mandatory Skills:Experience with Ansys Workbench
