Electrical Estimator will work in our TRICITIES, WA office and will independently manage major estimates from start to completion. Position responsibilities include:

Reviewing and evaluating project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevant project documents to identify what is needed for a project and to create a bid proposal

Executing take-offs of construction documents

Calculating the cost of electrical construction based on reviewing and evaluating available document

Analyzing project for value engineering options while taking into account specific job conditions that may affect labor and material to be purchased and installed

Identifying strategies to create bid advantages

Identifying potential estimate/construction challenges and devise solutions proactively

Preparing Requests for Information

Developing and maintaining a positive relationship with vendors

Requesting material and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers; Reviews quotes to confirm adherence to quote requests and accuracy of quotes received

Preparing budget pricing

Attending job walks to observe field conditions related to estimate and preconstruction activities

Participation in group discussions and final bid reviews with Project Managers, Senior Management and Chief Estimator

Mentoring and develop junior staff members

Qualification Requirements

15+ years of industrial and commercial electrical estimating experience is required

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in the electrical trade and training

Familiarity with McCormick estimating software or a similar system is required

Ability to interpret all types of electrical systems and technical specifications

Knowledgeable of electrical construction means and methods

Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes required

Ability to handle multiple priorities with interruptions and still meet deadlines
