Job Description - Sr. Embedded C Developer

We are seeking an Embedded Engineer to join our motivated and talented team. You will become a key contributor in the architecture, definition, and design of the next generation distributed intelligence applications which will enable our customers to solve complex grid operations use cases.

The ideal candidate will have experience doing embedded software development as well as configuring and debugging highly complex systems in an R&D environment. They must have demonstrated experience at interpreting system specifications, decomposing complex problems, and distilling them down to concrete designs/implementation. Finally, they will need to collaborate with other design and test engineers throughout the development lifecycle as part of an international and multicultural distributed intelligence organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Operate in a fast-paced development environment with regular, internal integration and external customer facing system releases
  • Work with systems and design engineers on product requirements, design, coding, and reviews
  • Design, document, develop, debug, validate and maintain code
  • Develop embedded software in C
  • Apply concepts and algorithms with and without the use of real-time operating systems
  • Respond to inquiries from technical support regarding function and operation of the solution
  • Verify documentation and on-line help content
Requirements:
  • Experience in embedded software development with exceptionally strong C experience on resource constrained embedded platforms
  • Real Time Operating Systems - Synchronization, Message Passing, Memory management etc.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Collaborating in a team environment
  • Experience debugging system, hardware, and software problems
  • Scripting such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Windows PowerShell, Linux shell
  • Proficiency with development tools such as compilers, emulators/JTAG, debuggers, GIT etc.
  • Unit/functional test automation skills
Desired Experience:
  • Networking - IPV6, IPV4, TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, MAC, ICMP, Wireshark.
  • Power Systems or Smart Grid analytics domain
  • Agile development
  • TensorFlow experience
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
