Local Trucking Company based out of Carlsborg, WA, has an immediate opening for a full-time, hourly Assistant Dispatcher/Office Assistant. Your schedule would be Monday “ Friday. Salary based on experience. The ideal candidate will assist to keep our trucking company and office running smoothly. You will have a friendly personality and a can-do attitude.

Job Responsibilities, but not limited to:

Dispatch truck drivers

Schedule, plan and confirm load pick-ups and deliveries

Keep track of trucks and trailers

Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with loads

Maintain excellent relationship with truck drivers and customers

Complete border paperwork for Canadian assigned drivers

Check, reserve and cancel Washington State Ferries

HOS Violations Compliance (review violations and work with driver to correct logbook)

Answer office phones

Handle emails as they pertain to loads and other applicable emails

Process invoices and post payments

Maintain maintenance schedules for trucks and trailers

Review timesheets for payroll

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience, enough to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

Dispatch experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate

Well versed in state and federal laws on truck driver safety (for example, allowable hours to drive)

Knowledge of computer operations, enough to enter, retrieve and manipulate data

Able to handle multiple tasks to receive and communicate information to and from several sources

ensuring calls for service are dispatched and monitored in a timely manner

Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions

Willingness to maintain respectful working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public

Ability to keep calm under pressure

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit, talk and hear

Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls

Ability to reach with hands and arms

Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus

Ability to function in work environment with moderate noise level from several sources creating constant

activity
