We are seeking engineer for implementing and validating dynamic controls to keep computer systems managed from thermal and power perspective. Goal is to optimize system performance within various design limitations. Ideal candidate should have experience with control theory and tuning techniques, as well as a good understanding of basic computer architecture. Programming experience is required. with exposure to drivers and kernel programmed is desired skills, Automation experience is a bonus preferably with PowerShell. Candidate should also have experience doing data analysis in Excel, familiar with various functions, and able to clearly document their findings in PowerPoint. Some of the activities of this job include:

  • Assist design, implement, and document specification for thermal and power management features (exp. active/passive skin cooling, CPU cooling, battery & power supply energy management)
  • Implement and optimize thermal management algorithms to provide system peak performance within system limitations (exp. target acoustics, touch temp, battery reliability limits, etc.
  • Benchmark our algorithms and provide competitive comparisons to various options.
  • Gather data for CPU characterization and studies.
  • Characterize design from thermal and power perspective, calculate limitations for thermal and power, and collaborate with various mechanical, electrical, and software teams on design improvements.
  • Design and develop stress tools and tests, drive analysis tool development, and execute studies on thermal and power (game studies, typical and worst-case workload scenario studies, thermal cooling distribution studies, etc.)
  • Should have Knowledge of Scripting for automation purpose.
  • Ability to work with various stakeholders and provide regular status in team environment.
  • Adequate skills in being able to present PowerPoint presentations in larger team settings.
  • Must be able to prioritize work while maintaining focus on the deadlines and milestones.
  • Must be willing to work remotely during the pandemic and resume work in-office after the pandemic.
Qualifications:
  • BS / MS in CS or EE
  • With over 4+ years of experience in the relevant industry
  • Track record of working in system engineering with both Software and Hardware development
  • Experience in performance tuning
