Partners closely with business leads across the Creative, Technology & Broadcast Operations, Production Studios, and Event Sponsorships teams to understand and influence drivers of revenue (e.g., ticket sales and corporate sponsorships), expense, and identify and mitigate business risk.
Establish and build clear lines of communication with multiple funding teams to drive budget and execution accountability.
Connect Event spend with outcome to ensure Marketing and Finance leadership understand and measure what we are getting from our investment.
Help budget owners understand tradeoff levers within their portfolio and associated impact thus driving the right investments being made at the right time.
The Function Marketing finance team stewards Marketing investments for the Global Media & Partnerships; Communications; Monetization & Business Planning; and Global Demand Center teams. This team is part of the Marketing & Consumer Sales Finance team and the Experiences + Devices, and Marketing (EDM) Finance organization.This Marketing Events Finance Leader role allows you to be at the heart of our Microsoft Events and Production Studios function by providing strategic guidance, collaborating closely with marketing partners, supporting the rhythm of business, and finding and driving process improvements. Evaluate options for vendor capacity and financial impact of different vendor scenarios.Global Demand Center Rhythm of Business (ROB) : Provide Financial leadership and point-of-view to Global Demand Center (GDC) Corporate Vice President (CVP) through regular updates and risk/opportunity assessments. Help the GDC to understand all available monetary levers and associated tradeoffs.Operations Team Alignment : Serve as the single Finance Point of Contact with the Events Operations Team. Finance Rhythm of Business (ROB) : Single Events Point of Contact: You will be the “go-to” person for Finance leadership to understand the complete Events picture.Finance ROB : Plan, communicate, and execute the rhythm of business including close, quarterly forecasting and annual planning timelines and deliverables. Increase rigor and transparency by developing insightful and actionable financial and operational views for business leadership.Microsoft Customer and Partner Colutions (MCAPS) Finance Leadership Team (LT) : Establish rhythm with MCAPS Finance LT to review Events investment commitments, metrics, models, and align on MCAPS agreements. Ensure accountability of MCAPS funded commitments.Long term contracts & liabilities : Manage long term contracts, financial liability, anticipate and support contract negotiations agreements. Thought Leadership of End-to-End Events: Corporate Sponsorship Models : Own, manage & influence model financial assumptions. Align across teams to socialize and confirm model assumptions with recurring rhythm. Resolve financial gaps, influence agreements for buy in with key stakeholders.3 rd Party Events Engagement Model & Accountability : Develop & iterate on 3P Events engagement models in partnership with key stakeholders, own recurring monthly rhythm to review status against budget and accountability to deliver on Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Funding Tradeoff Decisions: Evaluate and analyze funding status, provide finance judgment to facilitate trade off decisions with key stakeholders, and flag risks/gaps across teams.Chief Marketing Officer Leadership Team (LT) Updates : Provide finance insight, views, and point of views to support recurring Marketing LT forums.Embody our Culture & ValuesQualificationsRequired / Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
OR equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of demonstrated relevant work experience
Able to demonstrate intermediate use of Excel and PowerPoint

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
