- Execute electronic circuit and/or component designs of low to moderate complexity including feasibility assessment, requirements capture, part selection, schematics capture, simulation, performing or guiding layout, board bring-up & test, and software integration.
- Researches, develops, designs, tests, and documents electrical components, equipment, and systems.
- Determine and develop solutions to solve engineering problems with support from more senior engineers
- Performs analyses to develop design options and recommendations for structures, systems, and components.
- Utilize electronic lab test equipment, such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes to debug circuit and system issues.
- Recommends and/or performs design modifications as indicated by analysis, test, and usage.
- Implements and/or approves engineering documentation of moderate complexity.
- Complete and maintain all required quality system training and comply with all quality system procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Experience with analog design, digital design, and circuit/component evaluation and test
- Experience with standard electronics laboratory equipment operation, such as Oscilloscope, logic analyzer, DMM, and Network analyzer
- Experience with system-level architecture and part selection.
- Experience with microprocessor-based designs including programmable logic and/or DSPs.
- Experience with high-speed digital interfaces, such as Ethernet, USB, 1394/Firewire, PCI Express, LVDS, DVI, HDMI, DDRx, and PATA/SATA
- Demonstrated self-starter who takes initiative to solve difficult problems in a team environment
- Excellent technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Cadence SPB, or equivalent, for schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Experience with product lifecycle management tools.
- Experience with circuit simulations tools
- Proficient with MS Office tools.
- Familiarity with electromechanical embedded system design, including packaging for portability and ruggedness
- Familiarity with embedded software design
- Experience working in a regulated industry, such as medical or avionics
