This portfolio impressively powers the world with more than one billion monthly active devices.Team Overview :The Observability organization powers the monitoring and telemetry platform for Azure customers as well as the entire company of Microsoft. We collect, process and deliver insights on petabytes of data from the cloud, client and edge devices all over the world. The Common Infrastructure Engineering team is a team within the Observability organization with the mission of supporting all Observability services in the areas of infrastructure, tooling, quality fundamentals and live site management. We build Kubernetes and Service Fabric infrastructure and auxiliary applications that ensure Observability services are hosted on a reliable and secure foundation. We are also responsible for implementing the end to end orchestration of the buildout of 10’s of microservices that come together to make up the telemetry platform.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain Kubernetes and Service Fabric infrastructure and the services to help monitor and secure the microservices that run on the infrastructure
Design and implement full automation of the deployment of a microservice to a new environment
Design and implement the validation of a new microservice and its integration with its dependencies
Design and implement the orchestration of the deployment of 10’s of microservices with a complex web of interdependencies
Work across 10s of teams that develop Observability microservices to understand unique requirements and report on the overall progress of the orchestration of the services.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications :Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related math/engineering field
5+ years of equivalent industry software engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications :Experience developing and managing cloud services in a development, operations, or site reliability engineering role.
Experience building insights and visualizations to drive decision making based on telemetry
Ability to think creatively, bring diverse experience to bear on problems, and encourage other diverse perspectives.
Experience in collaboration across teams within and outside the organization.
