We are seeking a motivated, experienced, and customer-focused remote Design Researcher, who is passionate about Artificial Intelligence and its potential for reasoning over information. Scope of Activity:

  • Basic investigation in user research
  • Conduct user research to understand the needs and desires of your target audience
  • Research, document and deliver detailed reviews of competitive products including analysis of product features, design, perceived strengths, and weaknesses
  • Research, document and deliver detailed reviews of products including comparisons to past, current, and future competitive offerings
  • Document and present recommendations based on research and analysis
  • Work with the supervising Usability Engineer or Manager in identifying and addressing critical usability issues
  • Request to have evaluations performed & short usability testing on the designs
  • Function as point of contact for intake process and fielding questions from design team
  • Very team-interactive role, even though it is a virtual environment
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3 years in usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and cognitive walk throughs
  • Master s Degree (preferred), PhDs welcome
  • Must have actual industry work experience
  • Experience with Mid-Level - Traditional Usability Testing
  • Able to scope down a large scope project into chunks that can be turned around feedback in a quick timeframe - prepared to do a lot of formative studies with quick deadlines
  • Skilled in mixed methods: heuristic evaluations, cognitive walk throughs, card sorts, surveys, pull in quantitative methods and supplement qualitative methods, interviews and hold the toolkits to be able to mix those two to what the study calls for
  • Experience with Basic Investigations and Cognitive Walk-thrus, performing software usability testing remotely, particularly with user.testing.com and User Zoom
  • HCI experience and understanding the principles of HCI, previous experience working with design teams
