Windows VMware Engineer Contract Renton, WA (onsite from Oct/2021) Must have: Windows, VMware & AWS
- Manage the physical and virtual environment (VMware) of 2000+ plus servers
- Possess strong knowledge on Windows Server 2016/2012/2008/2003 OS3. Perform ongoing monitoring and maintenance of all servers in the operations team environment
- Support end users on complex technical issues including problems related to applications, client computers and servers
- Develop and maintain documentation about current environment setup, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
- Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices
- Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and correct hardware and software issues on servers, Escalate incidents as necessary Advanced
- Manage all Windows servers including hardware/software upgrades and patching of OS and applications
- Good knowledge on setting up security and remediating security vulnerabilities
- Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware upgrades, patches and reconfigurations.
- Manage vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services Knowledge in RCA5.
- Understanding of Ticketing Systems, Workflow and Change control process.
- Analyzes, logs, tracks and resolves software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs.
- Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning. Recommends course of action and implements as approved.
- Upgrades system software and hardware components as required to meet business needs; coordinates backups. Ensures upgrades are occurring in accordance with established parameters.
- Coordinates the installation of client department specific applications and systems. Determines appropriate method for installing applications and systems; resolves matter of significance and implements corrective course of action as needed.
- Utilizes standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes.
- Experience working with software installation/upgrading procedures.
