Location: SeaTac, WA Description: Our client is currently seeking a Technical Systems Designer III for a 6+ month contract position in Kent, WA.
Responsibilities- Design and maintain component and assembly product definition by preparing design layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies
- Apply Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly Apply relevant company, industry (design, drafting, parts) standards to engineering designs Implement engineering and manufacturing best practices to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements
- Self-prioritize and self-schedule work activity in support of the team
- Support drafting standards checking
- 7+ years of experience designing/drafting structural parts, precision components, and/or subsystems
- Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping) using Windchill PDM
- Strong work ethic with a high attention to detail
- Knowledge of fabrication and integration processes for machined components and welded assemblies
- Experience managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings
- Experience with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41
- or national, U.S. permanent resident (current holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Working knowledge of materials, machine design, mechanisms and additive manufacturing (AM) techniques
- Experience in component/assembly level structural/thermal FEA
- Extensive practice in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
- Rocket engine structural and fluid systems experience
