Job description

Arctic Transportation is a long-haul trucking company who is looking to hire an experienced full charge bookkeeper. You will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting duties for the company.

This includes preparing bank statements, GL entry and monthly reporting, and payroll.

A skilled full charge bookkeeper efficiently handles all the accounting needs of the company, streamlining our business.

Responsibilities:

QuickBooks proficiency is a must.

Experience using MS Office with a proficiency in MS Excel.

Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports

Payroll for W2 and Contractors

Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets

Create new processes to improve financial efficiency

Communicating with customers to collect on past due invoices

Managing the full cycle of accounting activities for the company.

Processing accounts receivable.

Preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements.

Prepare quarterly payroll reports

Prepare sales and use tax returns

Monthly and year-end accounting adjustments

Monitoring financial transactions and reports.

Recording day-to-day financial transactions in QuickBooks, including, but not limited to

Excellent communication and writing skills.

Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and be well organized.

Maintains attendance and vacation records of all personnel with a semi-annual statement distributed to all District employees with updated information

Maintains attendance and vacation records

In charge of all Corporate Purchasing cards and expenses.

Answers phones and responds to routine questions.

Requirements

2 years bookkeeping experience required

Bachelor's Degree required

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS-Excel)

Excellent oral and written communication

Knowledge of inventory management a plus

Strong organization skills

Self-motivated and dependable with little supervision

Logical and sensible

Deadline driven

Prepare quarterly payroll reports

Prepare sales and use tax returns

Monthly and year-end accounting adjustments
