The Electrical Engineering team within Oculus is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a focus on power circuit design, test, and system power & compute characterization. This candidate will be working with cross-functional design teams throughout the full product development life cycle. We are looking for a self-starter and a team player who can thrive in a dynamic environment. Strong communications and organizational skill and the ability to multitask across various disciplines and tasks are a must.
- Act as a subject expert across the business.
- Take technical responsibility for the power circuit design, simulation, validation, and characterization across multiple products ensuring their successful delivery.
- Evaluate and enable innovative solutions for cost, size, efficiency, safety, and reliability.
- Generate design documentations, perform schematic capture and power delivery network simulation both pre and post board layout, prototype bring-up and design validation.
- Root-cause and solve technical issues during new product development and in field escalations.
- Characterize power consumption, battery run time, battery charging/discharging curve at each NPI build.
- Scripts to collect power, compute, thermal measurements and drive every mA of power out of the system cross-functionally.
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry years of work experience.
- 3+ years of experience on EE design and low voltage power design in consumer electronics or related fields.
- Knowledge of the characteristics of power conversion such as linear and of switching regulators.
- Experience in Battery Management System.
- Working experience of mobile charger IC and wireless charge system.
- Working experience of mobile SoC and companion PMIC chip set.
- Communication experience, interpersonal and experience working independently or in a team. Analytical experience and experience communicating to audiences.
- 5+ years of experience on EE design and low voltage power design in consumer electronics or related fields.
- Experience with Cadence design tools.
- Experience with mainstream PDN simulation tools such as Sigrity or HyperLynx.
- Knowledge and experience of SOC thermal management.
- Knowledge and experience of Qualcomm SOC system.
- Excellent scripting skills for test automation.
