As we continue to expand and create, we have a lot of exciting work ahead of us! This position has a 16-week duration. All candidates are expected to commit to a consecutive 16 week timeframe for successful completion of the program. At the end of the term, those participants who have demonstrated their ability to succeed and make an impact at Facebook will be considered for a full-time position. Roles are filled as candidates are identified.This program is open to all candidates who have relevant professional experience and have been out of the workforce for 2 years or longer immediately prior to the start of the program.   • Manage data warehouse development plans (such as scope, timelines, output deliverables) for a product or a group of products.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, other data engineers and data scientists to understand data needs.
  • Build data expertise and own data quality for allocated product areas.
  • Design, build and launch new data models in production.
  • Design, build and launch new data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) processes in production.
  • Support existing data ETL processes running in production.
  • Define and manage Service Level Agreements (data availability, data quality etc.) for all data sets in allocated areas of product ownership.
  • Work with data infrastructure teams to triage infra issues and drive to resolution.

  • 4+ years experience in the data warehouse/reporting space.
  • 4+ years experience in designing, developing, optimizing and maintaining ETL using frameworks and/or programming languages.
  • 4+ years experience in writing SQL statements.
  • 3+ years of coding/development experience (such as Python, Java, C, Scala etc.)
  • 3+ years experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience analyzing data to answer business questions.
  • Experience managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients.

  • BS/BA in Technical Field, Computer Science or Mathematics.
  • Experience working with either a MapReduce or an MPP system.
  • Experience with database and query performance tuning.
  • Knowledge and practical application of Python.
