Description
We are looking for an experienced Back-end developer to join our IT team. You will be responsible for the server side of our web applications. The ideal candidate will have excellent programming skills and a passion for developing applications or improving existing ones, we would like to meet you. As a Back-end developer, you'll work closely with our engineers to ensure system consistency and improve user experience. Ultimately, the ideal candidate is a strong problem solver, with good product design skills, and with a commitment to delivering high-quality products. Must be able to thrive in a fast-based start-up environment with the ability to multi-task with minimal mentorship. Must have seasoned skills willing to start from scratch if necessary and be a collaborative team member. The candidate must be ready to hit the ground running and be willing to work on a small team of other hard workers.Responsibilities:- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
- Write clean code to develop functional web applications
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Perform UI tests to optimize performance
- Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
- Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic
- Gather and address technical and design requirements
- Provide training and support to internal teams
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Liaise with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features
- Follow emerging technologies
- 8+ years of experience designing and building AWS-based systems, and experience using AWS SDKS, APIs, and services
- Strong background with SQL, database design, and database tools (Postgres preferred)
- Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs & systems
- Experience developing and shipping products in Ruby On Rails
- Experience writing shell scripts / creating command-line tools
- Ability to work in close collaboration with product management and business team on feature definition and functionality
- Passionate about making products people love
- Ability to take ideas from conception to release
- Experience in use of agile methodologies in a start-up environment
