Title: Sr. Software Engineer

Location: Seattle WA

Duration: 12 Months

Must Haves:
  • Lead and influence technical decision, architecture and design
  • Leading some complex problem would be beneficial
  • Suggest new technology
  • 8-10 years of experience
  • NoSQL – MongoDB, Kafka Nice to have
  • Any cloud experience is a Must
  • Full stack dev profile preferred (65% - 70% front end, 30 – 40% backend)
  • Front end – java script, react, knowing how to make apps responsive
  • Backend – Java, springboot, microservices,
  • Knowing Scrum technologies would be helpful
  • Good communications skills

Description: What you’ll do:You will research and recommend frameworks and architectural/code design patternsYou will act as a spokesperson for software design best practicesYou will identify areas of improvements within the code and suggests solutionsYou will advocate for operational excellence (such as unit testing, establishing SLAs, programming for resiliency and scalability)You will advise on technical limitations of software design for products and provide alternative solutionsYou will share domain and industry knowledge between cross-functional teamsYou will serve as a guide to others by sharing and helping junior associates in their dutiesYou will possess knowledge of features and facilities for integration, and communication among applications, databases, and technology platforms to bring together different components and form a fully functional solution to a business problemYou will extend outside of direct organization and collaborate with peers across a senior level organizationYou will facilitate collaboration with different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop effective solutions to issuesYou will strive for optimum organizational efficiency by applying systems thinking across boundaries and making recommendations about policies/ processesYou can spot outmoded methods of operation with current systems and design plans for disrupting them in a non-disruptive mannerYou will report on status of difficult or high-level projects to local tech leadership via written or oral means. Who you are:
  • Strong in multiple technologies or languages and is an expert in Java, javascript, react, Node.js
  • Proficient building Restful APIs, GraphQL APIs, or gRPC APIs
  • Experience working with AWS/Cloud infrastructure
  • Able to understand highly complex systems and design moderately complex systems
  • Able to justify technology choices to technical and non-technical observers making well defined technology choices
  • Able to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Able to establish operational excellence metrics at the team level
  • Strong understanding of how team goals fit a business need
  • Guiding integrations across teams within business unit
  • Guiding others in design of software that is easily testable and observable
  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in a related Technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience

Equivalent experience includes:
  • Experience working in at least in 2 multi-quarter projects as a part of a decentralized team and project
  • Experience formally mentoring at least 3 individuals and driving technical design end to end for at least 3 projects
  • Experience contributing to engineering community through a blog post, open-source contribution, tech talks etc.
