We are looking for a Product Manager to support the business analysis and technical delivery of a new suite of data-centric, Socrata solutions for Tyler clients in the justice, public safety, community development, and public administration verticals. The mission is to collaborate with clients and stakeholders across Tyler to identify, design, develop, and bring to market cloud-based solutions that solve pressing problems in these verticals with a focused application of domain-specific data. This is a new role, and the person who fills it will have a unique opportunity to help shape the vision and process for how the Socrata platform supports the delivery of Tyler Technologies' Connected Communities strategy (Link to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54GLZaqz-4 ).Responsibilities- Developing a hands-on understanding of client problems and aspirations in a government vertical at a deep- and granular-enough level to provide actionable inputs for product direction and use case selection, in your product area.
- Driving the research-enabled ideation process from hypothesis to shipping value to customers
- Working closely with early adopters to translate their client problems and our solutions into specific data-centric narratives, complete with data source identification, schema design, data modeling, and user scenarios.
- Understanding and communicating the product vision, priorities, and success metrics for your product area.
- Being a champion for agile product development and the continuous improvement of the product development process.
- Overseeing requirements analysis and project decomposition activities that set engineers up to efficiently and sustainably deliver value to clients.
- Establishing and monitoring relevant product and usage metrics and provide data-informed recommendations for new investments.
- Triaging and prioritizing defects and escalations reported by clients and internal users, and notify clients about new features and capabilities.
- Communicating information in the form of User Stories that support user needs, program functions, test cases and steps required to develop or modify systems.
- Being the chief internal and external advocate for your product's point-of-view while enabling our go-to-market teams to tell a compelling and credible story to the market. Traveling to meet face to face with users and participate in research, design, and feedback session. Travel, at its peak and when it's safe, is expected to not exceed 15% of your time.
- A passion for (or latent interest in) public service, civic technology, and helping government customers be more efficient, responsive, and equitable
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and an iterative mindset.
- A heightened sense of personal accountability for delivering positive customer and business outcomes
- Insatiable intellectual curiosity and willingness to quickly acquire expertise about unfamiliar subjects.
- A "get to yes" mentality, focus on creative execution and enthusiasm for making hard choices, in close collaboration with your stakeholders.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, thoughtfully manage multiple competing priorities, and ask for help when needed.
- Direct experience working for, selling to or developing products for government agencies.
- 1-2 years of product management or user experience design in a fast-paced, data driven environment.
- Experience shipping products or features
- Experience working with Jira or Atlassian products.
