VOLT is seeking candidates for Senior Project Manager role for our client in Seattle, WA. This is a long term contingent role and candidates must be local to WA state.The Sr. PM works in collaboration with the business and IT project leaders, project team members, program manager and PMO, enterprise architects, solution architects, external systems implementation partner, and other key stakeholders to deliver the project on-time, on-schedule, and on-budget.Must Have

ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all aspects of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Leads technical, functional, and/or external project team resources. Partners with the business to understand business processes and drivers. Collaborates with, and guides, the business in the development of business cases, financial analysis, project charters, process definitions, and functional requirements for medium to large-sized projects. Develops and maintains project plans and tracks and reports on status. Proficient in analysis.Day-to-day activities include:
  • Facilitate project team meetings and the development of plans and approaches to carry out the work of the project
  • Develop and maintain the project plan, including work break down structure, activities, start/end dates and resource assignments; monitor and control the project activities to completion
  • Manage open items including actions, issues, risks, and decisions
  • Manage project schedule: develop Gantt charts, identify and manage the critical path
  • Manage project scope: develop and maintain scope documents, decision log, and change log
  • Manage project risks and issues: escalate risks and issues in line with project and program protocols
  • Assign activities to project team resources and monitor progress
  • Manage the integration with other projects within the program
  • Prepare weekly and monthly status reports, including Smartsheet, PowerPoint, and email summaries
  • Develop and/or contribute to documentation for Steering Committee meetings and other senior leader meetings
  • Manage all aspects of the project plan, including OCM activities and partnering with the systems implementation partner
Experience Required
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of progressive, relevant information technology experience
  • 6-8 years' experience managing complex IT projects or initiatives from beginning to end
  • Experience in a significant role on a major systems and processes implementation
  • 2-3 years' experience in sales and marketing systems and processes
  • PMI PMP certification or equivalent experience
  • Smartsheet or other modern project management tool
Qualifications
  • Possesses expert-level knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, waterfall) and experience with industry standard project management tools
  • Possesses expert-level knowledge of the structure, functionality, configuration, integration points, change processes, and workflow for software applications (e.g. PeopleSoft, SAP)
  • Experience defining software requirements for complex products/solutions, in-depth knowledge of analytical tools, relational databases, and software applications
  • Very strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Proficient in training and guiding others in project management and/or various analysis techniques and methods
  • Stays current on industry trends and new technologies
  • Proficient in understanding key vendors solution roadmaps
  • Participates in the development, and continuous improvement, of solution roadmaps
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Skilled in communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Effective in creating and delivering presentations to staff, leadership and partners
  • Excellent collaboration skills in working together with others across all IT segments
  • Proficient in exercising sound judgment in translating IT strategies into achievable IT initiatives
  • Skilled in solving highly complex problems and translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Skilled in performing highly complex analysis
  • Skilled at working with and influencing teams to accomplish business objectives
  • Skilled in delivering innovative business/technical improvements to existing processes
  • Proficient at leading medium to large-sized moderately complex projects
  • Proficient at conflict resolution, time management, process and data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and risk management
  • Able to apply business knowledge to develop and deliver innovative, value-added improvements
  • Anticipates the needs of the team to maximize performance
  • Proven ability to operate and effectively communicate while under pressure, as well as the ability to manage a diverse workload and work under time constraints with minimal supervision
  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities concurrently
