Job Title: Software Development Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA

Duration: 9 Months

General Responsibilities: · Design, develop, debug, and modifies components of software applications and tools.· These roles are on a SRE team and require a high level of AWS & infrastructure experience.· There will be a mixture of software and cloud system design required.· Experience in solving large scale reliability concerns is preferred

Roles and Responsibilities:· Drive technical implementation at the application/product level for small to mid-sized projects.· Design, spec, schedule and provide quality implementation of a component or feature (typically 1-3 months in duration).· Provide alternative solutions to a given problem.· Resolve problems and roadblocks, with management assistance if required.· Follow through on details and drive issues to closure.· Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.· Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique work of self and others.· Work collaboratively with all members of technical staff.· Collaborate with program management and testing peers in the development of assigned components.· Participates in and provides input to requirements definition.· Usually provides solid judgment calls and tradeoff analysis.

Notes:· This is not a devops role· This is an SDE role· Primarily coding in Java and Python in the context of AWS and Expedia specific tools.· Proficient in Java and Python· Highly desired that the candidate is experienced in area of site reliability engineering.· Creating policies in policy system called canopy. Used to measure compliance that apps have against guides created for AWS apps; Lot of interaction with partner teams, coding, testing and production deployments· Experience in years: 2-5 years or more.· Devops/Site Reliability engineers not primary skill. Writing code is the primary skill.· AWS basics is required. Heavy infrastructure background not needed.
