job summary:

We are seeking a

Software Test & Verification Engineer with experience in

satellites. This position will be responsible for the test and verification of

flight software on a rapid development satellite program. The engineer will take requirements and decompose to test methods and test cases. The engineer will develop test cases and test procedures to be used in verification activities. The engineer will develop and report out test results to the program. The engineer will work to streamline the test process/schedule to support program milestones. The engineer will work closely with the software development team to ensure the software meets requirements and supports the overall system.

SPEEA representation applies, this job family will be covered by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Position includes work in areas within a 10 mile radius of Tukwila, WA

Basic Qualifications:

    • BS degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Engineering is required.
    • Must possess a current (within the last 5 years) final Top Secret clearance. Boeing Security will validate clearance level.
    • Experience performing all phases of test & verification on a software project required (requirements analysis and allocation; test cases, procedure development, test execution and reporting).
    • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python
    • Proficient in reading and debugging C/C source code

Desired Qualifications :

    • A Bachelor's degree with 9 or more years' experience, or a Master's degree with 7 or more years' experience, or a PhD with experience is desired.
    • Experience (highly desired) with agile development processes and methods
    • Experience in development, build and test of small and medium-sized spacecraft
    • Experience in a dynamic rapid prototyping environment
    • Prior history working proprietary programs with a variety of Government entities in a classified environment
    • Experience using a Linux operating system
    • TS/SSBI highly desired
    • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems, such as Integrity, Real-Time Linux or vxWorks
    • Knowledge of low-level programming with real-time constraints (example APIs include Unity and the Unreal Engine)
    • Knowledge of computer hardware architectures and the extent to which they influence low-level software

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
