Sr. Data Analyst - Seattle, WA PART-TIME Bioinformatics Temp Position 20 hours/week Obesity Biology - Target Discovery Platforms Job Description: Data infrastructure, storage, organization Assist workflows to shepherd large data files from lab instruments to servers, data lakes, and computing clouds. Format data to enable analysis and internal storage and publication. Track, organize, and annotate files and metadata from next-gen sequencing, omics, and imaging studies. Data processing and analysis Run data processing pipelines, i.e. bulk and single cell RN Aseq alignment and QC. Run basic data exploration, dimensionality reduction, and differential gene expression analyses. Produce data visualization reports or interactive dashboard apps. Document and version control code to share with bioinformatics colleagues. Qualifications: Highly resourceful and self-motivated; ability to work from example coding scripts and piece together workflows independently is a must. Skilled in programming languages R and/or Python and bash scripting. Familiarity with biomedical data such as microscope image files, next-gen sequencing preferred. Good code hygiene, i.e. version control and collaboration with git. Ability to work on multiple projects and accept direction and feedback from multiple team members. Skilled communicator with colleagues in different areas of expertise, such as computational and biological scientists. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required; major in biological or computer sciences, data science or bioinformatics preferred. 2+ years' experience in data science, data engineering or data infrastructure projects required. Prior experience working with biomedical and next-gen sequencing / omics data strongly preferred. Prior experience formatting, moving, and organizing many large files across multiple servers strongly preferred. Rate Code:
