Sr. ScientistTypical Daily Work Hours: Mon-Fri Standard Working HoursDirect HireKelly Scientific would like to present a great opportunity as a Sr. Scientist at a Biotech company in Seattle, WA.The Sr. Scientist will support the preclinical development of new immuno-oncology drugs to drive lead selection and pharmaceutical collaborations of the company. A successful Sr. Scientist will possess proven skills to optimize experimental systems and solve scientific problems in a dynamic drug discovery environment. Candidates should be highly motivated individuals, strongly laboratory work oriented, with excellent organizational skills. Independent thinking and excellent communications skills are desired.Primary Responsibilities:· The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, execution and interpretation of both in vitro experiments to evaluate drug candidate efficacy and understand the mechanism of action, as well as murine in vivo tumor models.· This role will design assays using human and murine primary cells to characterize the MoA of preclinical leads in immuno-oncology models.· Hands on experience in in vitro immunological assays (MLR, T cell activation assay, T cell and myeloid differentiation assays…) as well as molecular cloning and syngeneic in vivo tumor models to evaluate antigen specific T cell responses are required; flow-cytometry and human cellular immunology experience is also desired .· Aspects of the position also include evaluation of lead compounds in anti-tumor immune responses as well as the effect of various modalities on the tumor microenvironment.· Optimize experimental systems, work independently and direct research associates to ensure timely completion of studies· Strong analytical, written and oral communications skills are required to present experimental findings at internal/external meetings and through written reports.Qualifications:· PhD degree in Immunology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, or related field.· Minimum of eight years-experience in industry life science research.· Strong experience in tumor immunology and preclinical drug development.· Strong Attention to detail· Typically 10-15% Work in the lab directly· Experience working in a fast-paced research environment.· Management experience desiredWhy Kelly ® ?With Kelly, you’ll have access to some of the world’s highest regarded scientific organizations—providing you with opportunities to work on today’s most challenging, research-intensive, and relevant projects.
