Cook for Italian Restaurant (Edmonds)
Girardi's Osteria, a busy full-service Italian restaurant/bar in Edmonds for over 20 years is looking to add to its kitchen staff.
The cook candidate must either have all-around kitchen experience or a culinary arts program certificate. The position requires performing every aspect of the BOH as needed, including loading/unloading dishwasher, Pantry, Prep, Fryer, Grill, Sautee, Oven, inventory, and organization of freezers/walk-in and pantry, cleaning and mopping, etc.
This position will work under the supervision of the Head Chef, and collaborate with other kitchen and FOH staff.
The requirements are:
- Ability to read and comprehend order tickets, menus and recipes written in English
- Ability to communicate with English-speaking FOH staff
- Be able to walk up and down a flight of stairs with a box of meat/produce/ice several times a day
- Current food handler's permit
- Hands-on quick learner
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times and comply with our hygiene policy
- Non-Smoker
- Reliable transportation

Hourly wage is competitive and based on experience and can quickly go up 10%, 20%, or 30% in stages depending on progress, availability and attendance, food prep and presentation, following recipes, managing kitchen and inventory operations, cleanliness, getting along with others, and doing the job without supervision. It is up to you to show how good you are to get more hours and pay raise. Needless to say, you will most likely start at a lower wage until you can prove yourself and demonstrate your skills.

We offer 1 hour of sick pay per every 40 hours worked, commensurate with the State Law.
