Westwind Organics is a 200+ acre certified organic commercial vegetable farm in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley, located in NW Washington state. We grow over 30 different types of vegetables with a heavy emphasis on lettuce, broccoli, bunched greens, cabbage, celery, and winter storage crops. We operate with the highest principles of sustainability for the planet, people, and profit. Family-owned farm that has been in business since 1995.
Primary responsibilities:
Regularly check that our Food Safety Program and Production SOPs are being followed in the field and packing shed
Update Food Safety Program and Production SOPs as needed
Train employees regarding food safety and our best practices for production
Keep detailed records
Prepare for inspections and professionally interact with inspectors
Observe and report to management any deficiencies
Conduct production time studies regularly
Use in field observation to contribute to weekly product availability
Required skills:
Strong communication (written & verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills
Good leadership skills
Works well with others
Desire to learn and grow on the job
Driven self-starter
Detail and results oriented
Ability to prioritize and accomplish important tasks in a timely manner
Comfortable being on your feet most of the day
Required knowledge & experience:
2+ years as a Supervisor or Manager
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Proficient in using Microsoft 365
Preferences:
Organic vegetable crop experience
Knowledge of USDA grade standards, methods, and techniques
Enjoy working outdoors
Schedule:
Monday through Saturday (May thru November)
Monday through Friday (December thru April)
