Hollywood Baked Goods (HBG) is excited to advertise for the position of Overnight Production Baker. HBG is a small independent, female run bakery specializing in cakes, cake pops, cupcakes, brownies, and other sweet treats. This role is essential to the behind-the-scenes operations of the bakery and supports our daytime team by preparing and producing high-quality baked goods overnight.
Schedule & Pay The position is for overnight shifts and will typically run 5 shifts per week (approximately 30 hours/week), however the successful candidate will have the ability to accommodate additional hours to fit with the needs of the business, including during holidays and busy months. This is a new position at Hollywood Baked Goods, created to support our growing production needs. As we integrate this role into our existing operations, we’ll be adapting and refining the schedule based on workflow, order volume, and business demand. We’re looking for a team member who is flexible, communicative, and excited to help shape this next phase of growth at HBG. Base pay is $17/Hour. Nightly shift would be 7PM-1AM Tuesday-Saturday.
Position Overview:
This is a back-of-house, overnight production role focused on prep, baking, packaging, and cleaning. The Overnight Production Baker is responsible for ensuring our products are baked, prepped, and ready for retail by the morning team. This role requires strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently and efficiently.
You’ll gain hands-on experience with production baking, basic decorating tasks, inventory tracking, and bakery prep routines while working in a supportive, fun, and quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and bake a variety of items including cupcakes, cake layers, brownies, cookies, cheesecakes, and other desserts using established recipes and procedures;
Complete prep tasks (buttercreams, doughs, fillings, etc.) in accordance with production needs;
Package baked goods and retail products with attention to consistency and branding;
Organizing upcoming and existing orders for pickup and delivery;
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including dishes, tools, equipment, and floors;
Restock ingredients and supplies to ensure morning team has what they need to start the day;
Communicate any inventory shortages, equipment issues, or production concerns;
Assist with early morning order prep or setup as needed.
Procure bakery supplies by visiting local stores (primarily Cash N Carry) or suppliers as needed to ensure inventory levels are maintained.
Ordering bakery supplies and ingredients online in order to ensure timely and uninterrupted bakery operations.
Requirements
Previous commercial kitchen, bakery, or food production experience preferred;
Ability to work independently and stay on task without direct supervision;
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and reliable;
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines overnight;
Comfort working overnight hours and maintaining productivity during solo shifts;
Goes above and beyond to support the team, and is reliable, trustworthy and responsive;
Basic knowledge of vegan and gluten free products, including safe food handling practices to prevent cross-contamination;
Food Handler’s Permit (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Environmental Job Needs:
Most of the time is spent moving about frequently. There may be a need to occasionally undertake additional movements, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
Applicants must have the ability to lift 50lb bags of flour and sugar, and stand for extended periods of time.
