PART-TIME CONTRACT POSITION WITH POTENTIAL FOR FUTURE FULL-TIME PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT

Duties and Responsibilities

BASIC BOOKKEEPING FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the accounts receivable, assist with the maintenance of accurate financial records, the production of financial reports, and inventory tracking. This position will also assist in preparing and maintaining records that are reviewed and used by an outside CPA firm to prepare tax returns.

Principal Responsibilities:

Post payments / Update receivables

Assist with invoicing and other accounting related functions

Maintain an accurate chart of accounts

Assist in the preparation of accurate monthly financial statements

Assist with monthly reconciliations of bank accounts

Human Resources

Perform Human Resources and payroll duties, including initiation of New Hire documents, personnel records maintenance, and payroll assistance.

Principal Responsibilities:

Assist with bi-weekly administration of payroll and related functions, using an outside payroll provider, ADP

Assist with timely compliance of EDD, IRS, and the Department of Labor

Maintain employee personnel files

Maintain and update Employee Handbook

Assist with payroll reconciliation to the General Ledger and other accounts

Maintain all required insurance policies including but not limited to liability, Workers' Compensation, etc.

Assist with all year-end tax documents are distributed (W-2's, 1099's, etc)

Qualifications

Minimum of two years experience in AR and/or AP and HR required

Experience in bookkeeping and knowledge of accounting principles

Proficiency in Quickbooks, Excel, other Microsoft Office Suite programs,

Familiarity with local, state and federal employment related laws

Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of or ability to research employee rights, benefits and obligations

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

Knowledge of tracking inventory a plus

Knowledge of ADP payroll and HR solutions systems a plus
