Litigation firm seeking P/T legal assistant/paralegal

Washington, Seattle-tacoma 00000 Seattle-tacoma USA

Vacancy expired!

Busy litigation law firm in Everett is seeking a part-time legal assistant/paralegal 20-30 hours per week with some flexibility in schedule and the possibility of working some hours from home. At least three years experience in litigation legal assisting is required. Paralegal experience is preferred. Please do not apply if you do not have the required litigation experience, as your application will not be considered.

You will be at the front desk answering the phone and greeting clients; performing new client interviews over the phone; processing mail and deliveries; taking client payments; scheduling appointments and meetings; calendaring/docketing/filing new cases and pleadings; transcribing; drafting letters, emails and pleadings; dealing with vendors; communicating with clients, opposing counsel, colleagues, and the court; scanning and making copies; filing documents; and performing other administrative and office-related tasks as needed.

You must feel comfortable working in an office alone for a majority of your work day. The firm may eventually grow, but for now consists of only one attorney and contract-based paralegals and attorneys who work remotely.

You must be able to take direction, work independently, and be confident in your work. Must be professional, friendly, and a good communicator. Multi-tasking and independent problem-solving are important as is the ability to work well under deadlines.

The firm needs someone who is reliable, professional, knows what they are doing, has law firm etiquette, and knows how to handle clients and litigation matters. The ability to exercise good judgment and handle tasks and assignments without guidance is necessary. Must be willing to perform any and all tasks ranging from vacuuming to running errands to drafting legal pleadings.

Pay will depend on experience and the right person will be compensated well with the possibility of increased compensation as you prove yourself. The firm offers bonus potential, paid sick leave and vacation time even for part-time work, a flexible schedule, and free parking. The position could increase in hours and responsibility if desired and could ultimately lead to office management if you are the right person and want to be involved in the firms growth.

To apply, please provide an email cover letter, your resume, and three references.
