AtWork! is seeking a full time Employment Consultant to join our Employment Services Team. Employment Consultants specialize in assisting individuals with disabilities to secure and maintain employment that is relevant to their interests and skills in the community.

Employment Consultants are responsible for ensuring that the people we serve are employed in roles that they want in the community. They are also responsible for ensuring that employers have the assistance they need to train and maintain quality performance from their employees. This position assesses the skills and talents of the individuals on their caseload, then develops and implements services plans for their employment. Employment Consultants additionally develop leads within community and secure employment opportunities that are a match for both the individual served and the businesses. Once employment is secured, Employment Consultants collaborate with the individuals and the businesses on training effective communication techniques, accommodations, and developing natural supports in the workplace.

An effective Employment Consultant is self-confident, comfortable with diversity, compassionate, and has a good sense of humor. Listening to the people we serve, observing behaviors, and attention to detail are critical to success.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent.

College degree preferred but not required.

Course work in the areas of marketing, vocational rehabilitation, psychology, education, or sociology is a plus.

One year experience working with people with disabilities is a plus.

First Aid & CPR certification is a plus

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Good driving record and proof of valid car insurance.

Valid Drivers License.

Must have a reliable vehicle to travel throughout King County.
