Washington Service Corps- Operations and Administrative Assistant serving with For All

For All is a dynamic grassroots non-profit organization located in Central Seattle that strives to reduce societal waste and promote positive activity for all. We enact our mission through the reclamation, conservation and sharing of resources. Our organization has served estimate of 1 million meals, prevented 2 million tons of resources from being added to the waste stream, and prevented 1 million tons of greenhouse gases from being released.

Operations and Administrative Assistant will assist in operations and administrative tasks related to For All mission and programs, and Washington Service Corps member requirements and trainings. O&A Assistant will serve in a variety of tasks including performing/coordinating performance of Grocery Recovery pickups, sorting and storing of food. Also includes performing/coordinating performance of tasks related to meal preparation, meal service, set up/clean up, development and implementation of activities related to various kitchen shifts and program events. Also includes delivery and driving vehicles such as commercial van and box truck for food pickup, food/meal/supply delivery and vending purchases and service. (Applicants must have and maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record). O&A Assistant will perform administrative tasks including volunteer recruitment, delegation, scheduling and retention. Also will maintain records and develop reports as requested. O&A Assistant will engage positively in the community.

Washington Service Corps positions require the ability to commit to serving for 40 hours per week for 6 months. Available terms are:

This position provides a pre-tax living allowance of $1,450 per month through AmeriCorps, health insurance, and child care assistance if qualified.

Upon successful completion of service, you’ll receive a $3,047.50 education award that you can use for future college plans or to pay existing college loans.

AmeriCorps Candidate Eligibility Requirements

At a minimum, the following criteria must be met:1. be a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident (must submit proof as defined by CNCS regulation);2. be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of service (17 years of age with signed parental consent form);3. pass required National Service Criminal History Checks;4. not be listed on the National Sex Offender Public Registry (NSOPR);5. a high school diploma or GED for any tutoring position.

Other requirements:1. must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record2. must be able to lift 50+ pounds and bend repetitively3. must be able to commute to Central Seattle4. must be available on weekends

What is the Washington Service Corps?The Washington Service Corps was created by the Washington State Legislature in 1983 to give young adults opportunities to serve their communities. When the federal government established the AmeriCorps program in 1994, the WSC was one of the programs used as a successful example. When WSC joined the AmeriCorps program in 1994, the eligibility for the program was expanded to include individuals age 17 and over.WSC is one of the largest intermediary organizations in the country, and is administered by the Washington State Employment Security Department. WSC receives federal funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service through grants awarded by Serve Washington. WSC AmeriCorps members are placed with schools, nonprofit organizations, state, local and tribal government agencies, and faith-based organizations to address a variety of unmet and pressing community needs. WSC partners/sub-grantees must demonstrate evidence-based solutions that produce positive community outcomes.
