Job summaryWe are seeking a talented and experienced Software Development Manager to lead cross-team technical programs for the Prime Video client edge platform. You'll have the freedom (and encouragement) to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of our customers. This is a strategic role to shape and deliver a technical strategy for improving the Prime Video customer experience and creating visibility into the end-to-end delivery of content. Our team is the engine that powers the delivery of content to customers and we need an experienced program manager to ensure our success. You will lead a high visibility and high impact program collaborating with various teams across Prime Video. You will own regular communication with senior leadership on technology, customer experience, platform expansion, and roadmap. A successful candidate must have strong customer obsession and a strong ability to partner with peer groups.Do you want to enable great and high quality viewing experiences for prime video viewers? Ever wondered how we provide features such as Skip Intro/Recap/End-Credits at scale across all our content? How we make our content accessible to more customers removing the barriers of ability (hearing/visually impaired) and language. We are also responsible for automatically detecting media content defects such as audio-video sync and audio-subtitle sync issues across languages, subtitle grammar/spelling/profanity, distorted audio and video etc. and prevent these from reaching our customers.

Key job responsibilitiesYou will be a leader managing a high performance engineering team and working with people from various disciplines like product management, program management, machine learning, UX research and design. You will be responsible for creating the right organizational structure for your area, hiring and developing senior talent in your organization and developing a culture of fast pace innovation and delivery. You will have a deep impact on the product direction and will also be a part of the larger technical leadership community at Prime Videos.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
  • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with mission critical, 24x7 systemsMachine Learning, Computer Vision, Audio Processing, NLP fundamentalsExperience with high throughput, multi-threaded systemsHigh level knowledge implementing and consuming large scale web servicesProficient in python
