Amazon believes so deeply in the mission of streaming Video that we've launched our own studio to create original and exclusive content and engaged with the top professional sports leagues around the world like the NFL and the Premier League to deliver compelling live content to Prime members. The Prime Video team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to own the execution of a ML/AI platform to speed up compliance of Prime Video content including live events, movies and TV shows on mobile devices, living room devices, and the web. As part of this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with Applied Scientist, Product, Engineering and Operations teams within and outside Prime Video while getting deep insights into our entire business.

Key job responsibilitiesThe Senior TPM role requires excellent leadership skills, strategic thinking, ability to dive deep technically with Science and Engineering teams, the ability to partner effectively across teams within and outside of Amazon. As a member of the team, you'll learn how Computer Vision / ML is applied to Prime Video content and how compliance decisions are made. You will help define the future vision of these systems and how other Prime Video teams can leverage the technology built here. You will also need to frequently engage business, product and technology leaders and be a strong advocate for our customers. A day in the lifeA typical day may start with presenting the goals status to leadership followed by meetings with your technical teams to understand blockers, requirement clarifications that are critical to the program you are driving. You are the technical liason between product and engineering teams and will ensure execution of projects is smooth. You will spent some days writing Think big documents , status reports and PR/FAQs to define the technical vision for your products!

About the teamVideo Compliance and Classification is a tech team within Prime video whose charter is to ensure we build the right technical systems to scale compliance for our customers. We determine Maturity ratings (EG: TV-14, TV-MA), content descriptors to indicate the type of content (eg: fear, violence, foul language,etc) by leveraging cutting edge Computer Vision/Machine learning techniques to identify scenes in all Prime Video content.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams
  • Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules
  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience working in cross functional groups including customers/users, software, supply chain, logistics, design, test, reliability, and failure analysis. Excellent cross-organizational verbal and written communication skills to provide status and manage expectations. Strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive decisions. Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners. Experience in taking complex products global from requirements scoping to launch Understanding of computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning algorithm development
