DESCRIPTION

Job summaryIMDb sits at the intersection of the entertainment, media, and technology markets inside the world's most innovative and consumer-centric company - Amazon. IMDb employees enjoy the benefits of working for Amazon with the autonomy of working on a small and nimble team with people who love Movies & TV. As a software development engineer at IMDb, you will have the opportunity to use Amazon technologies from all over the company to build amazing products which will be used directly by both fans and industry professionals.

Key job responsibilitiesAs an SDE in IMDb you will join an experienced development team responsible for IMDb's flagship app on iOS. You will work on making our existing app great while growing our ability to move fast and expand to international markets. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define product features, drive the software architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a high quality and reliable app.

To be successful in this role you'll need to maintain a high quality bar for our code and our customers. You'll work independently to solve challenging software problems. You'll work closely within the team and with stakeholders from Product, UX and Back-End Services to represent our mobile apps and what we need to be successful. You'll pivot quickly from feature development to experimentation aimed at gathering data for the next round of big bets. You will be comfortable going deep on a variety of areas such as video playback, advertising, and native app components as well as working with our API layer to define the next iteration of our schema to power our apps. You'll share your ideas on how we can work more effectively.

A day in the lifeWe are looking for an SDE to create best-in-class mobile customer experiences for IMDb's next 250MM users. We seek an engineer who can channel their passion for movies and TV, work backwards from customers, and work with a team of engineers to solve hard technical challenges.

You will be working on anything from native app components, GraphQL integration, or Video Playback. You'll work directly with our apps team, back end services, and Product or UX stakeholders to define features and assess feasibility. From experimentation to operations, your ideas can help improve the product and the way we work.
