Job DescriptionThe company builds smart, reliable, and efficient electric heating solutions with an unparalleled user experience. They are committed to supporting the community where they work and live.As Fabrication Manager, you'll lead and coach a 30 person metal fabrication and paint team. You'll ensure that quality standards and production deadlines are met, collaborate with other department leaders on common goals, and promote Lean manufacturing practices.The selected candidate will drive improvements in manufacturing and product flow for all fabrication activities, including sheet metal punching, forming, spot-welding, and paint. Apply Lean principles to everything you do and drive continuous process improvement efforts. Efficiently plan, schedule, coordinate, and move fabrication orders through the production process based on team and equipment capabilities and material availability.Investigate and resolve production quality and machine maintenance issues; seek the root cause. Track metrics for production and quality. Follow safety best practices and ensure OSHA/WISHA compliance. Support your team on their career paths with coaching and cross-training. Create and implement SOPs for each phase of the fabrication process. Other job duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and has over 5 years’ experience managing a team of 10 or more employees, ideally in a fabrication, manufacturing, warehouse, or construction environment.Over 2 years’ experience utilizing and implementing Lean principles. Technical Aptitude – read and interpret schematics and technical drawings; understand the basics of metal fabrication techniques, tools, and equipment; use various software applications (MS Office, Dynamics GP, Go to Green, and others).Experience and passion for motivating people, instilling accountability, and achieving results. Accountability – own the work and take responsibility for team outcomes. Flexibility – easily and quickly pivot to meet changing business needs. Approachability – build relationships and foster trust with your team and external departments. Coachability – be open to process improvement opportunities.Focus – laser in on the details that matter most, but don't forget the big picture and downstream effects. Tenacity - use critical thinking and a "let's do this together" mentality to push through challenges and solve complex problems.
